MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!<\/strong><\/p>\n The Great Canadian Genealogy Summit<\/strong> will be held at the Courtyard Marriott, Brampton from Oct 21-23 2016.<\/p>\n On October 21, we have arranged a day at the Ontario Archives<\/strong>. And better still, for those with United Empire Loyalist ancestors we are\u00a0offering a workshop with the Dominion Genealogist<\/strong> at the Archives<\/em>. She will share her expertise on what documentation is required and how to access the documents at the Archives.<\/p>\n Friday<\/strong> evening is our Keynote Speaker,\u00a0author Jennifer Debruin. <\/strong>Jennifer\u00a0will share with us some of the struggles of our early Canadian ancestors. This energetic talk will be followed by a social time. A time to get to know fellow Canadian genealogists, to get to know the speakers better, or to browse in the marketplace.<\/p>\n On Saturday<\/em>, there is a full day of learning. We\u00a0have five streams for you to choose from (yes! You can mix and match). On offer:<\/p>\n Ruth Blair<\/strong> – who will talk on researching Irish<\/strong> ancestors<\/p>\n Mike Quackenbush<\/strong> – who will talk on researching English<\/strong> ancestors<\/p>\n Louise St Denis<\/strong> – who will talk on researching French Canadian<\/strong> ancestors<\/p>\n Kathryn Lake Hogan<\/strong> – who will talk on researching Canadian<\/strong> ancestors<\/p>\n Christine Woodcock<\/strong> who will talk on researching Scottish<\/strong> ancestors<\/p>\n Sunday<\/em> starts with Louise St Denis, Director of the National Institute for Genealogical Studies<\/strong>\u00a0sharing her extensive knowledge on Methodology.<\/p>\n And we wrap up an intense weekend with Lynn Palermo<\/strong> who will help us to get a better handle on writing our family stories so that our work can be preserved for future generations.<\/p>\n Breakfast and lunch are provided on Saturday.<\/p>\n All registrants get a free course from the NIGS<\/p>\n The hotel will be providing a discounted rate from Thursday to Sunday for anyone attending the Summit.<\/p>\n The hotel has free WiFi and Find My Past is providing FREE access for all registrants for the entire weekend!!<\/p>\n Full weekend registration is $159 cdn ($115 usd).
